Tucked away in the bustling district of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, Hygge was founded in 2018 offering services such as massages and spa treatments. “Hygge” - a Danish term used to express a quality of coziness that makes a person feel content and comfortable - reflects the owner’s ambition to create a calming retreat for busy locals to find peace. Through a conscious rearrangement of functions and material selection, the result explores the dynamic relationship between nature and urbanism which are two seemingly disparate facets of our lives.
